BEN CROMBIE

My name is Benjamin Crombie. I was born in Millington, Tennessee, and moved to Marion County, Arkansas, at the age of four, where I've lived ever since - aside from a few brief relocations. I'm proud to call this area home, along with my wife, Shelley Crombie, and our two sons, Wyatt and Eli. Our household is rounded out by a couple of loyal dogs, a flock of chickens and ducks, and a few goats that keep life interesting.

I've always considered myself a jack-of-all-trades. My journey began in my teenage years with lawn care, firewood cutting, and small engine repair. After high school, I attended college in Red Wing, Minnesota, studying band instrument repair and graduating at the top of my class in 2007. I returned to Arkansas shortly after, where I worked as an HVAC installer while running an after-hours automotive repair operation from my home.

In 2011, I made the decision to go back to school to deepen my understanding of modern electronic and computerized automotive systems. During this time, I competed in SkillsUSA-a national competition for trade school students-and earned the gold medal at the Arkansas State level. I went on to place 11th nationally, an experience that propelled my career forward.

After the competition, I joined Wood Motor Company, starting as a transmission tech apprentice. I quickly became a fully certified transmission technician and, within three years, moved into a diesel technician role, ultimately earning full certification there as well. I spent five rewarding years at Wood Motor Company before deciding to pursue my lifelong dream of owning and operating my own shop.
